I'm sitting here, trying to organize the reasons that I love living in Walnut Creek, and there are so many that I don't know where to start. It's such a great community, with the downtown area - excellent restaurants, shopping, and the arts - the annual Walnut Festival, the downtown street art exhibits in summer, the 100 acre Heather Farms park, the 17,500 acre Mount Diablo state park - not to mention the people, who come to live here from all over the world, and the fabulous weather. Well, okay, the weather doesn't just belong to Walnut Creek, but its fabulous just the same. |

| The town has an estimated population of 66,111 (Estimate: State of California 2006), contains 7,260,820 square feet of office space and an abundance of retail space. As of November, 2007, there were 69 restaurants in just the downtown area. (So if you go hungry, its probably your own fault!) Check out my Restaurant Reviews page for some of our favorite spots! | ||||||||||||||
To educate a student population of approximately 10,500, Walnut Creek students attend 3 school districts: the Walnut Creek School District, the Mt. Diablo Schood District and the Acalanes Union High School District. More information can be found at the Contra Costa County Office of Education. |
